TrendForce indicates that, with regards to 12-inch equivalent foundry capacities, Taiwan accounts for nearly 50% of the global total, while Hsinchu and Miaoli account for about 40% of Taiwan.
However, most foundry companies including TSMC, UMC, Vanguard, and PSMC have socially distanced their workforce, by dividing workers into teams and allocating each team to work in turn since mid-May. Thus, although there are few confirmed cases found in TSMC and Vanguard, there is no impact on foundry operation at this moment.
